Is pasta healthy?

Is pasta healthy?

Yes. Point. It could be the shortest blog ever. Just ask the counter-question: is pasta unhealthy? And try to argue that. You can argue about it for a long or short time, but pasta is basically healthy. There is nothing in it that can detract from that.

The question: pasta healthy or unhealthy?

There are people who deliberately leave pasta out of their diet because it is not healthy (a fattener?). But it is difficult to find the reasoning behind this.

Pasta is a product of two ingredients: flour and water. The only extra option is to add eggs to the dough. You can hardly go wrong with that.

If you choose whole grain products, you have an extra healthy pasta in your hands, because these pastas are full of healthy fibers that reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. It is no different than with bread (or rice), of which the whole grain variant is also preferable.

Is pasta carbonara healthy?

With a question like this, we get to the point. Pasta is healthy, but it is up to you to prepare a complete and healthy dish with pasta as a basis. A pasta dish is as healthy as you make it.

There is nothing wrong with pasta carbonara, especially if you eat a nice salad with it. Carbonara is preferably eaten with egg as a sauce, with good pancetta and pecorino cheese. If you use cream and are very generous with the cheese, the number of calories will of course increase. Especially if there is a glass of wine to go with it and a dessert after.

The principles of healthy eating are actually always the same: enjoyment is allowed (should even, if you ask us), but moderate your ‘guilty pleasures’.

Which pasta is healthy/healthy pasta recipes?

Basically, no pasta is unhealthy. The whole grain pastas are slightly healthier than the others because of the aforementioned fiber in it, but actually you can never go wrong.

Do you have to eat gluten-free or do you prefer to choose a vegan pasta? Nowadays there is a wide range of these too, prepared with just as much skill as all the other types of pasta.

You can let yourself be inspired by a quality pasta. Healthy recipes are everywhere. With mushrooms, vegetables or fish as alternatives to the most famous pasta dishes with meat. However, these are also healthy, as long as you know how to moderate them.

The famous Italian ragù is a sauce in which excessive meat goes. But if you eat with a large party or adapt the recipe a little, you can also enjoy it.
