Vegetarian pasta is delicious and healthy!

From the very last and lonely dish on the menu to ‘hip and happening’. You really don’t have to be a vegetarian anymore to eat vegetarian pasta once.

In this blog we give you some ideas for simple, but oh so tasty pasta without meat.

Because it is healthy for you and because you can contribute to a more sustainable future of our world. Oh yes: and because it can be very tasty!

More and more people are choosing not to eat meat once, twice or three times a week. This may take some getting used to in the beginning, but believe us: it is not a sacrifice.

There are wonderful vegetarian pasta recipes to be found that will make it easy for even the most ardent carnivore to forgo meat for a day.

A day without meat: pasta vegetarian

For a long time it was the proverbial final item on restaurant menus. Under the heading ‘vegetarian’: pasta. And nothing else. Usually it was a not really inspired ravioli. Eating out in this way was not a luxury if you did not eat meat or fish. Those times are fortunately over.

Vegetarian food has become completely normal and vega pasta is for everyone, without artificial variations with meat substitutes.

With vegetables, mushrooms, pesto, cheese and a beautiful Italian pasta as a basis, there are more than enough fresh and tasty alternatives available to prepare a beautiful vegetarian pasta dish.

Vegetarian pasta and vegan pasta

Of course, it is not the same thing: vegetarian and vegan pasta. Pasta is vegetarian by definition, but there is also a wide range of vegan pasta for vegans to choose from. These are the types of pasta without egg, so with flour and water as the only ingredients.

Vegetarian pasta sauce with fish

Italians love a nice piece of meat, but they are certainly equally fond of fish. The sea is never far away in Italy and therefore the wealth of fresh fish and shellfish everywhere is enormous.

A classic vegetarian spaghetti is the spaghetti alla vongole, but check out our recipes for pasta with tuna and tomato sauce and the special black pasta with squid rings and tomato sauce.

Easy to prepare and delicious! And something different again. You can also add fish to pasta with meat recipes. We did this, for example, in our pasta carbonara with salmon.

Pasta without meat and fish

If you prefer to go ‘all the way’ with a vega pasta without fish, there are plenty of beautiful recipes for that too.

Who doesn’t like pasta pesto? Making your own pesto is easy! A simple pasta with tomato and basil is also great and you give your friends or family a particularly pleasant surprise if you serve a penne with spinach and ricotta or an original pasta with truffle. You can make such a dish extra special by using a genuine Italian type of pasta.
